Young returned to Los Angeles where she landed the roles of Cathy Metsker, Mel Gibson Madeleine Stowe & Greg Kinnear's We Were Soldiers; and Rachel for JJ Abrams Mission Impossible: 3 with Tom Cruise & Keri russe. Additionally, she's produced several independent films including The Freebie with Dax Shepard with Joshua Leonard and A Country Remedy with Joshua Leonard. Both were made on location in North Carolina. Young is at work on a contemporary adult album featuring covers by Fleetwood Mac Tom Waits Ryan Adams. On May 15 2015 Young released her first single Far Away So Close on iTunes. Megan Griffiths directed her in 2016 crime drama The Night Stalker about serial murderer Richard Ramirez. She also was a part in an independent film called Bernard and Huey with Jim Rash and David Koechner. Live-action Disney film adaptation A Wrinkle in Time, that starred Oprah Winfrey Reese Witherspoon Mindy Kaing and Reese Witherspoon, in 2018, was her first big role.
