Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and vocalist since the mid 1990s. The first Broadway parts are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford has spent her time working with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors across theatre and on television. she is continuing her award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford will be next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust which stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford will be seen as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the leading the production. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over 100 Years. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first significant character. Also, she was a part of the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. Born and raised in Denver Ashford is now dividing her days between Los Angeles and New York.
