Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on the 9th of August, 1976. She was the youngest of four children. Her parents, who were a dentist and a school teacher were supportive and encouraged by her passion for acting and theater. The initial goal of her to become a master monkey was eclipsed by her wish to learn about drama and theater. Her fame grew as a child actor quickly and with huge success. Prior to beginning the acting profession, she participated in Jeunes Premiers an French talent search TV program sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. Also, she was awarded the the title of Best Young Actress for her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Although she studied at in the Institut Catholique de Paris and was a member of the church during her childhood, Tautou has stayed away from her religious upbringing and has stated that she's not Catholic. Her acting and modelling careers were intertwined. Tautou was the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Her photography is also a hobby and she has recently displayed her work in the Arles festival under the name Superficial. Through her photography, she concentrates on fame and the spotlight. The camera is turned towards journalists who scrutinized her rise to the heights of fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her debut role as a lead character in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie is undoubtedly a huge box office smash internationally and praised at many award events around the globe. It's the biggest French language film to ever be released to be released in the US. Later, in the same year, she appeared in British dramas, including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Junet's The long day of the fiancailles. After that, Tautou went to Hollywood where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
