Cheney has stated in accepting his role as Republican vice president that he would like to be a president candidate who will work cross-partisan and to collaborate in a manner of good will and for a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941, the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. When he was 13 years old, he relocated with his family to Casper within the Western region of Wyoming and his father ran the district for soil conservation in Casper for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
